Webmaster Services Hawaii started in 2010 with a simple observation: Hawaii’s mid-sized businesses were being overcharged and underserved. Gary Wells had spent years inside some of the islands’ largest media and technology companies and saw the gap up close — the businesses that needed real help most were the ones getting the least attention.
The Founder
Gary Wells founded Webmaster Services Hawaii in 2010 after more than a decade in the islands’ web and media industry, including work with Gannett Pacific Publications, Hawaii.com, 101 Things to Do, and Revacomm. Along the way he took on one-off website projects for local businesses on the side — and kept hearing the same frustration: the big shops charged too much and delivered too little to the small and mid-sized companies that drive Hawaii’s economy. WSH was his answer.
Gary was raised in Hawaii from the age of four, grew up and went to school in the islands, and has built his career here. That local perspective shapes everything WSH does — these aren’t clients in a spreadsheet, they’re neighbors, and the work reflects it.
